Shooting Classic Dance Poses on Location / Dancer in stretch

One of the biggest challenges of taking good indoor pictures is controlling light.

It is all too easy to have areas of a photograph be too light and/or too dark.

This is especially true when using a digital camera because its dynamic range (the range in which it captures tones between white and black) isn't as wide as traditional film.

It is therefore imperative to use good lighting equipment to achieve professional-looking results.

This lesson demonstrates how to use a digital camera and diffused lighting to capture classic, natural-looking images. To illustrate, we went on location to a local dance studio to photograph this young dancer.
