"Why is the sky blue?" A common question that, depending upon one's point of view, can elicit answers ranging from "Because God made it that way" to "Because the blue wavelengths of sunlight are scattered by air molecules in the earth’s atmosphere."
Photographers, however, tend to be more interested in knowing how to capture the beauty of this blue light, rather than in having to explain why it exists.

In colder climates, this blue light from the sky becomes further accentuated with the presence of snow. With its loft and ability to reflect and illuminate, snow can transform ordinary scenes into meditations on form and color.
