Knocking-Out the Background in Photoshop Elements / Gold ring

Once you've learned some basic techniques with lighting and photographing your jewelry, you'll have accomplished most of what it takes to create professional-looking jewelry shots.

To really bring your images to the next level, though, consider using some simple image-editing techniques to really dress them up.

Keep in mind that while lighting is the most important component to any jewelry shot, image editing can be very effective in enhancing the presentation of your shots.

This lesson uses Adobe Photoshop Elements, available at retailers or from Adobe.com for only $90.

We use Elements to demonstrate how to create a pure white background for layout or display purposes.
